After talking to thousands of people about their
heating and cooling issues, one of the major
problems for heating and cooling is vaulted ceilings.
When it comes to vaulted ceilings, its important to
keep in mind that the closer the roof is to the
insulation, the hotter the house will be.
Although an attractive and highly-desired feature,
vaulted ceilings usually have little or no insulation at
all. However, some of the ways we would correct this
problem with our Radiant Barrier product is as
follows:
• For the newer homes that have false vaulted
ceilings with some insulation, we would lay our
Radiant Barrier product right over the existing
insulation.
• For new construction or renovations, before any
new roof sheeting is installed, we would drape our
Radiant Barrier insulation product over the trusses
in the vaulted ceiling area.
• If the solutions above are not an option, then
removing the old sheet rock from the vaulted ceiling
area is necessary. Then our Radiant Barrier product
would be stapled to the underside of the trusses,
and the sheetrock would then be replaced.
• As a final option, we can staple our Radiant
Barrier product to the old sheetrock, and add
another new, very thin sheetrock over it.
Each of the options above will insure that your
house will stay nice and cool in the summers, and
warm and comfortable in the winters.
